About CMC Group
CMC Group is a network of individuals with experience related to social networking. Social networking is commonly associated with websites like MySpace, Facebook, UTube and many others. CMC Group has been active in social networking circles even before the Internet Web 2.0 properties came on the scene. Social networking, people talking with people, linking them into groups with common interests is not new. Religious, fraternal, trade, guild, labor, academic honorary societies are all examples of social networking and have been around for thousands of years.
CMC Group’s initial focus is the real estate marketplace. In 2007 there has been so much turmoil and change involved with the real estate bubble and overly creative mortgage products aimed at the subprime consumer and investors. In the words of Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve, “irrational exhuberance” was associated with the Dot Com Boom”. Irrational exhuberance was a communicable illness that also evidently affected the real estate market in 2004-2006. So CMC Group will initially focus on clarifying the consequences of the mortgage meltdown and the effect on real estate. Homeowners and home buyers who are making decisions in 2007/2008 will benefit from reading our BLOG.
About the organizers of CMC Group.
Chosen and Mely Cheng (hence CMC) have been active networkers for 20 years ever since Mely decided she was getting burned out as a senior buyer in the corporate world of high tech and also as a super mom, mother of two and wife of one. They formed CMC Marketing Group, a catalog marketing company and were able to generate enough sales and net profit in three years using social networking and word of mouth to more than replace her income. She was able to run the business from home and able to be there for their two children, Cassandra and Christopher. They had been quite happy being the children of two busy working parents with high tech jobs, eating out all the time, and needing to schedule scarce family time. But, when they had a taste of mom being at home, at ages 8 and 11, they really let her know how much they appreciated it.
So because of the results they were able to achieve to help enhance their life style with more time and flexibility for the family, Chosen and Mely have been eager to share their experiences of starting their own business from scratch. They learned how to work as a team and to support each other. They learned how to set goals, strive to achieve them, reset them if necessary, maintain a positive attitude, and focus their efforts. They learned how to engage the kids in the family business. Chosen and Mely consider networking with other like-minded people to be an important aspect of being successful business owners and they have given workshops on networking and building customer relationships to business groups all over the country.
In his spare time, for the past ten years, Chosen has developed a reputation as a well regarded instructor and coach of over 4000 students in the undergraduate and MBA programs, online and onground, of the University of Phoenix. When he was in high tech, as an extracurricular activity for several years as a part of his own management development program, he taught problem solving and decision making to over 400 managers and supervisors at Hewlett-Packard. Chosen is CEO of TutorParents.com, a volunteer association of parents and students in the East Bay who contribute their time and knowledge to provide supplemental online tutoring resources for parents to better help their children with homework.
